Welcome to our classroom web page! Our classroom is hard at work learning and growing together.
My name is Mrs. Deanna McKinney and this is my 28th year of teaching. Throughout my 27 years of teaching, I have taught second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade. I began my teaching career at Graham Elementary School and joined the Longest family when Graham was closed. As a student, I attended Longest Elementary and graduated from Muhlenberg Central High School in 1986. After high school, I attended Murray State University and received my bachelor's degree and master's degree.
I am the proud parent of two handsome young men, Montana and Dakota. Montana graduated from MCHS in 2018 and Dakota graduated from MCHS in 2013. My youngest son, Montana graduated from Ranken Technical College in December, 2019. He is employed at Jerry Ray Davis Chrysler Dodge in Owensboro as a diesel mechanic. My oldest son, Dakota, works at Pogue Electric and loves to do construction projects as side work. Outside of school, I am a very busy parent involved in my boy's adventures. My boys enjoy Ranger riding, four-wheeler riding, fishing, hunting, swimming, baseball, and basketball. I have been happily married to my husband, Eric, for 28 years. He is an electrician for McKinney Electric in Muhlenberg County. I am blessed to be Nana to my first grandson, Oakland Knight McKinney. He holds a very special place in my heart. Oak will be a kindergarten at LES this year. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, surfing the web, shopping, swimming, camping, travelling to the beach and mountains, and being outdoors.
